About the Author


Katayoun Shirzad was born in Shirgah, a town in the Savadkuh region of Mazandaran, Iran. She has spent nearly fifty years of her life outside Iran and currently lives in Vancouver, Canada, with her husband and three children. After completing her studies in the fields of science and therapy, she worked for twenty years in educational and developmental sectors in collaboration with the Canadian government. She also spent ten years closely working with government experts on various programs at British Columbia’s provincial television.

 In addition to her social activities, Katayoun Shirzad has conducted numerous lectures and educational and therapeutic workshops. She has published seven books and over three hundred articles on therapy and psychoanalysis in Vancouver’s weekly publications. In recent years, she has also held several sculpture exhibitions.
