The author of this book, drawing on years of experience in teaching Persian literature, strives to explain various topics related to the meters of Persian poetry in the framework of prosody and rhyme in a simple, comprehensive, and clear manner. Since classical Persian poetry, in its various forms such as qasida, ghazal, and masnavi, is structured with rhythm and has an inseparable connection with the principles of prosody and rhyme, this book is written with the aim of further acquainting young enthusiasts, talented students, and, in a word, all those who feel the spirit of being a poet within themselves but are not familiar with the principles of this noble art—which, as Hafez says, will not lead to deprivation.

In this collection, the different branches of the science of prosody and rhyme are discussed and examined in detail and separately so that enthusiasts of classical Persian poetry can become familiar with the various meters and poetic rhythms, as well as the application of rhyme, refrain, and poetic licenses. This will provide them with a more scientific and easier understanding and appreciation of the rich and classical literature of this land.
