Golzar is a collection of modern poems by Dr. Zohreh Ansari— a poet and thinker who learned poetry not in classrooms or universities, but in the school of life and emotion. She herself says, “I did not learn poetry or its principles through formal study, nor did I pursue a degree in literature.”
In this collection, the poet narrates the world within and around her through a language that is simple yet profoundly expressive. Her poems are composed in the style of she’r-e no (modern free verse), a form liberated from traditional meter and rhyme— one that relies on emotion, imagery, and the inner music of words. This style allows the poet to express pure human experiences directly and intimately.
Golzar is a journey through seasons and sensations:
from the birth of spring
to the dance of rain
and to an inner awakening.
Everything began with spring.
The trees were still drunk with sleep,
Love blossomed on the branches of summer.
Autumn scattered yellow leaves
across the notebook of my life.
The cheeks of my poem flushed…
Something awakened within me—
it rained, it laughed, it danced.
This book is an invitation into the delicate and radiant world of words—
a place where life, love, nature, and femininity intertwine and bloom.
