I turned my heart towards thoughts and words
The Masnavi became the companion of this servant
I write the tale of the heart line by line
I speak the secrets of the heart only to the confidants
I tell the story of the cruelty of time
Of the autumn of love and the loss of the beloved
The garden, a narrative of roots and thoughts, profit and creation, a collection of unspoken secrets and slumbering in the heart, emerged from the language of the soul and from the beloved, written in such a way that I did not know.
It does not end, sometimes he is the talking bird and I am writing it down
If I have been brief, forgive me, for he has always been forgiving in his grace
